Todd Elliott Moore, 54, passed away unexpectedly but peacefully at his home in Raleigh on July 8. Todd was preceded in death by his father, George Moore. He is survived by his wife Ginny Moser, stepdaughter Greta Moser, mother Barbara Moore, sister Sharon Pullen and her husband Robert Pullen, nieces Jordan and Lydia Pullen, nephews David and John Pullen, and great-niece Iris Beach. Todd loved his family and was never happier than when he was cooking out on the grill at family gatherings. He loved Christmas and always looked forward to the holiday season when he would reconnect with his large extended family of aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Todd was born in Durham, NC, and grew up in Roanoke, VA, where he attended Patrick Henry High School his sophomore year. He returned to NC with his parents and completed his junior and senior years at Needham Broughton High School in Raleigh. He was a graduate of East Carolina University and Eta Beta member296 of Sigma Nu fraternity. Todd considered both Roanoke and Raleigh his hometowns and loved to reminisce about all his friendships through the years. He kept in touch with his closest Roanoke friends and looked forward to their annual weekend reunions. Some of his best memories were of playing in the marching bands at Patrick Henry and Broughton.
Todd was proud of his career with the State of North Carolina that included positions with the Department of Cultural Resources, NC State University as well as the Department of Administration.
Todd was an avid college football and basketball fan, an expert on classic rock music, a history buff, and an animal lover. He loved snow and the mountains along with summers at the beach. He was a kind and gentle man who will be deeply missed by his family and friends. He left us far too soon.
The immediate family will celebrate Todd’s life in a private service.
Please consider making a donation in Todd’s honor to SPCA of Wake County (200 Petfinder Lane, Raleigh, NC, 27603 https://spcawake.org/).
