Obituary for Lee Forbis Conrad
Lee Forbis Conrad, 76, passed away Tuesday, November 20, 2018 at her home surrounded by her loving family.
Services will be held on Sunday, November 25, 2018 at 2:00pm at the Presbyterian Church of the Covenant. The family will receive friends on Saturday, November 24, 2018 from 3pm until 5pm at Forbis & Dick North Elm Street. A native of Greensboro, Lee was a 1960 graduate of Curry High School. She went on to attend East Carolina University and later graduated with a Bachelors in Education from Women’s College in Greensboro. She was a member of the Sigma, Sigma, Sigma sorority, Daughters of the American Revolution, a longtime volunteer with the Guilford County Schools, Greensboro Jaycees Old Timers, a member of Presbyterian Church of the Covenant and attended Muir’s Chapel UMC. A true Southern lady, she was a friend to all she met and would never forget a birthday or anniversary (her kids joke that Hallmark stock will now plummet.) A consummate hostess, her Bloody Mary’s were world renowned. She was an amazing mother and grandmother and very supportive of her grandchildren’s participation in theater, dance & sports. Her pets were her second family. She traveled the world with her best friend and husband Ken Conrad and her family takes comfort that they are now reunited.
Lee is survived by her children, Leslie Conrad of Clemson, SC; Ashley Conrad of Charlotte; Christian Conrad and wife Robin of Charlotte; Justin Conrad and wife Andria of Greensboro; Brother, John Forbis and wife Cyd of Greensboro; sister-in-law Kathryn Conrad of Elk Creek, VA; five grandchildren; Annie, Egan, Maggie, Kendall and Bridget Conrad; niece and nephews Heather Forbis-Grice and husband Woody; Patrick Forbis and wife Miriam and Luke Conrad all of Greensboro.
She was preceded in death by her husband Ken Conrad, parents, A. Lee Forbis and Lillian V. Forbis; in-laws, Luke and Elizabeth Conrad; and brother-in-law, Bob Conrad. The family would also like to extend a special thanks to her sweet cargiver, the Thelma to her Louise, Tanisha Pinnix.
