ECU Veterans Day Salute Includes Eta Beta's KIA Vietnam-Dyer, Rogers and Williams on Veternas Day 2013 |
On November 11, Veterans Day 2013, the three Eta Beta Brothers, KIA in Vietnam, were recognized at the East Carolina University "Salute to our Veterans Ceremony" on the ECU Campus. Dr. James H. Bearden, delivered the Veterans Day address. Brother Glenn Dyer had been previously recognized by a special brick in the sidewalk at the memorial site on campus, off 10th street beside the Christenbery Memorial gymnasium. However, on this date, Brother Wayne Holloman donated bricks in memory of Brothers Dempsey Williams and David Rogers. Now all three brothers are memorialized on campus for giving their all in the service to their country.
Brother Holloman placed each of the two bricks on the sidewalk area during the ceremony. A number of other bricks were also placed and all will be properly and expertly placed in a professional manner by ECU ROTC personel. Below we have a series of photos in a slide presentation from the day's events including two photos of the program, various bricks and other photos. --Veterans Day 2013
