Phillip Ellis Langford. March 13, 1942 - April 29, 2018

Phillip Ellis Langford, age 76, passed away peacefully on April 29, 2018. He was born on March 13, 1942 at Rex Hospital on St. Mary's street, Raleigh, NC to his late parents Taylor (Tim) Morton Langford, Jr. and Christine Ellis Langford. Phil graduated from the Broughton High School where he was part of the graduating Class of 1960. After High School he went on to attend East Carolina University where he was an active member of the Eta Beta Chapter of Sigma Nu fraternity.

After graduating from East Carolina in 1965, he served in the National Guard for 6 years. Phil's career began in Insurance in 1965 and it would remain his vocation until 2010. His Insurance career began with Universal Underwriters and ended owning an insurance agency, Powell, Angeli and Langford Insurance with his daughter, Kim Angeli. He retired from that agency in 2010 after he was diagnosed with his illness in April of 2010.

Boating, Traveling and Reading were some of his favorite hobbies. Lots of memories were made on the water with family and friends. Phil is survived by his wife, Faye Rose Langford of 48 years. They have a daughter, Kimberley Langford Angeli, who is married to Rick Angeli. His only granddaughter is Samantha Elizabeth Angeli. They reside in Waxhaw, NC.

A graveside service was held at Raleigh Memorial Park on Thursday, May 3, 2018 at 11:00 am followed by a memorial service at 2:00 pm in the chapel of McLaurin Funeral Home in Clayton, where the family receive friends one hour prior to the service, from 1 pm until 2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to www.project2heal.org in memory of Phil's love for Labs.
