The Creed

The Eta Beta Chapter of Sigma Nu has returned to the campus of East Carolina University. The Snakes are back!

Robert Arnold "Wolfman" Thompson
Snake Reunion has just learned (1/26/2012) through Brother Lyle Cooper, that Robert Arnold "Wolfman" Thompson (HB 40) is deceased and passed away in August, 2010. "Wolfman" lived in Reidsville, NC. He had suffered from heart problems and had been in declining health. He was from Durham and came to East Carolina in 1957. There are many tales about "Wolfman's stint (s) at ECU, all believable. After ECU he spent his career with American Tobacco Company, first in Durham and later in Reidsville. He was an Eta Beta Legend.
David B. "Peaches" Howard, Age 69
NEWPORT NEWS - David Baxter "Peaches" Howard, 69, passed away on Friday, Nov. 25, 2011, after a brief battle with cancer.

He was born on June 4, 1942, in Newport News to the late Charles Bradford and Edith Baxter Howard and graduated from Hampton High School.

He was also a graduate of East Carolina University where he was a brother in the Eta Beta Chapter of
Sigma Nu fraternity and participanted in reunion activities.

He had retired from Hampton City Schools and was a member of First Baptist Church.

David is survived by his wife, Judy Neikirk Howard; daughter, Lisa Howard Candella; son-in-law, Aaron Candella; two grandsons, William Joseph Candella and Joshua Howard Candella; a brother, Charles Bradford Howard II and his wife, Susan; a niece, Lindsay Howard and a nephew, Bradford Howard, and his good buddies.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2011, at Peninsula Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 30, 2011, at Peninsula Funeral Home. The Rev. Dr. Robert D. Marston will be officiating. Burial will follow at Peninsula Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.

The family wishes to thank the staff of Riverside Hospital and The Newport for the care and support they provided during this difficult time.
