Snake Alumni Meeting and Luncheon |
On Thursday, September 4, the Brothers and Pledges of Sigma Nu along with a number of Kappa Sigma Nu Colony members converged on the Sheraton Imperial off I-40 for the Snake Reunion business meeting and lunch. Our host was Brother Roddy Jones (HB 33), who gave the Snakes complimentary use of his hotel meeting space and provided a complimentary lunch for all participating. Millard Maloney presided. After most of the business was completed and a favorable vote was taken to establish an Alumni Chapter, Brother Maloney asked those present to give an update on what they had been doing and what their lives had been like since their days at East Carolina College and East Carolina University. It was an entertaining and enlightening session that everyone enjoyed.
At the end of the session Millard presented Roddy Jones with a well deserved special Award of Appreciation for his leadership as a brother and citizen and for his hospitality and generosity during this first Snake Reunion. Brother Jones had been one of the key players in moving Kappa Sigma Nu from a Colony to the Eta Beta Chapter of Sigma Nu.
Lunch was then served and those whose wives were in town had their wives joined the group. We also were honored that Brenda Kintz and Pat Rice, two wives of deceased brothers took the time to be with their Sigma Nu family.
Note, this page features two (2) slide presentations. So far, we have been unable to make the vidio presentation of Roddy Jones being presented an Appreciation Award work.
