Joseph H. Arnoult, Jr. and T. Jerry Williams were pledge brothers in the 1960 fall quarter pledge class of the Eta Beta Chapter of Sigma Nu. However, they had not actually seen each other since their college days, over 45 years ago, until recently. When Jerry learned that Joe's wife Dottie was in the hospital in Greenville, he decided that he'd make a trip to Greenville on Saturday, November 27, to see his fraternity brother after so many years and to check on Joe's wife. He arrived early that afternoon and spent a good amount of time with the Arnoults. They talked about their lives since their days at ECU and about work, children and grandchildren.
Dottie explained that it was probably her fault that Joe had not attended our last Snake Reunion and Jerry pointed out that in September 2011, there would be plenty to do at the Lexington gathering of the Snakes. He told the Arnoults there would be no excuse for missing the Lexington event.
When their pledge class was initiated in early 1961, Joe became HB 61 and Jerry became HB 67.
As the 2011 Snake Reunion approaches many Eta Beta brothers should think about those they have not seen in years. This will be an opportunity for all of us to be together again and share many of our experiences of being brothers. The High Council of the Snake Reunion encourages all to take time to invite those brothers we have not seen in so many years to attend the 2011 Snake Reunion.
Many of you will enjoy that satisfying experience of renewing the bonds of brotherhood and rekindling the "Spirit of Sigma Nu." Please join us in Lexington and bring our spouse or significant other!
