Eta Beta's 9th Snake Reunion and 2016 Alumni Association Meeting a Huge Success & The Pirates "beat" the Wolfpack |
Thanks to Brother Mike Cunningham's leadership as Alumni Commander, assisted by Jim Stout, Danny Wood and others, the 2016 Eta Beta Alumni Association and 9th Annual Snake Reunion was a huge success. Golf on Friday morning and the Annual Banquet were both held at the Greenville Country Club. Brothers were there from each decade since the Kappa Sigma Nu Colony was founded in the 50's through the last time Eta Beta was rechartered. Over 100 participated in our Annual Banquet, thanks in part to the participation on the new candidates and pledges who should be initiated as brothers in early 2017. We are guessing...in early February.
The business weeting went well on Friday but a few of our regulars could not be with us for various reasons and were greatly missed at the meeting and banquet. However, we did "carry on" in the traditional Sigma Nu fashion. Danny Wood explained in the meeting that our Sigma Scholarship for Excellence has been fully funded through a trust set up via Snake Reunion and the Alumni Chapter and the first $1,000 scholarship to an Eta Beta brother (for excellence) should be announced in the Spring of 2017 and awarded in the early Fall of 2017. He also got approval to establish an Eta Beta Housing Fund. The new Eta Beta Colony chapter officers were on hand, introduced and gave information on their activities. Jim Stout gave an update on general activities and Mike adjourned the meeting, a little later than we had thought. But it was a productive event.
Now we plan to post as quickly as possible the many photos taken at the event to share with the Brotherhood and our extended Sigma Nu family. These are slide-shows so just click the large arrow below the first photo. You may also stop the show by clicking agan on that arrow and you can save and print photos of your choice as needed. Photos received so far are from Joe Arnoult, Danny Wood and T. Jerry Williams. We expect a few photos from James Apple by Christmas or the New Year. So if you have 'em send 'em to tjw@tjwlc.com and we'll try to get them online if possible. No promises but we'll try.
