The Creed

The Eta Beta Chapter of Sigma Nu has returned to the campus of East Carolina University. The Snakes are back!

Snake Reunion #7, Game Day, September 21, 2014, ECU v UNC
Snake Reunion #7 was a great success; not only because The Pirates whipped UNC, but also because we had brothers from the founding colony of Kappa Sigma Nu to the last colony and chapter there. Yes the YGs or "younger guys" were there along with those from the First Charter of Sigma Nu's Eta Beta Chapter. And too, Steve Tuttle, editor of EAST magazine became a convert in support of helping the Eta Beta Alumni Association with their efforts to get the Sigma Nu National Champion Swimmers into the East Carolina Athletic Hall of Fame. After all they were the first to bring national recognition to East Carolina College, now ECU, by winning a National Championship. And much progress was made in an effort to bring Sigma Nu back to the ECU campus.

As one can tell from the photos we have added to this website following Snake Reunion #7, there were a number of new faces attending.  This is good news for the older brothers because the new guys will now play a more active role in the Alumni Chapter.  Brothers Ray Spears and Mike Cunningham were elected Co-Commanders of the Eta Beta Alumni Chapter and will soon begin preparing for SR #8 to be in Greenville next fall.  At that time we'll be making plans with Sigma Nu National to establish a new Eta Beta Colony in Greenville, NC at ECU.
